DJS vs. MUSICIANS - HUMAN ELEMENTS IN ELECTRONIC MUSIC

Standing at the unlikely intersection of electronic dance music and jam bands is Berlin´s My Secret Session. A mixed group of DJs and Musicians from all around the world enlive their audiences with a style that is equal parts House, Soul, Jazz, Funk and EDM.
The Session Line-Up can include various instruments such as drums, bass, vocals, brasses or sitar. "Through each member’s unique contribution we recreate the energy of electronic music in an unrepeatable live performance," explained founder Florian Herzberg. "We add human elements by playing live instruments, improvising 95 percent of the sets."
The goal is to bring live instrumentation back to the DJ and dance culture. That´s why the session is made for everyone who enjoys club and bar atmosphere! Not just for musician nerds!

Zwischen elektronischer Dance Music und Jam Bands hat sich die My Secret Session eingeordnet. Eine sich ständig erneuernde Gruppe aus DJs und Musikern aus aller Welt belebt die Szene mit einer Mischung aus House, Soul, Jazz und EDM.
Verschiedenste Besetzungen wie Drums, Bass, Vocals, Bläser oder Sitar sind möglich. "Durch den Beitrag jedes einzelnen Künstlers bringen wir neue Energie in die elektronische Musik in einer sich nie wiederholenden Live Performance", erklärte Gründer Florian Herzberg. "Wir fügen menschliche und elektronische Elemente zusammen und improvisieren 95 Prozent bei jedem Set".
Ziel ist es instrumentale Music zurück in die DJ und Tanzkultur zu bringen. Deshalb ist My Secret Session auch für jeden, der die Club- und Baratmosphäre schätzt, geeignet! Nicht nur für Musiknerds!

I am a DJ/Musician. Can I join the sessions?

Yes, of course! You just have to write an email to office@flowingrecords.com with links to your music. In case we are interested we will contact you.

Is this event just for Musicians and DJs?

No! Its made for everyone who enjoyes electronic and and live music, performed in an unique way.

Is My Secret Session a Band?

No, at every event there are new people from all around the world, playing together for the first time. My Secret Playground is a band and hosts the night.

Whats the difference to other (jam)sessions?

1. This session is made for the audience, not just for musicians and DJs. Everybody should enjoy the atmosphere!
2. People are casted to get the best quality for the stage performances. Also the technical setup is unique.

When does the event take place?

Every month @ Mein Haus am See in Berlin and soon in other cities through Europe. Dates you find on the Website and Facebook.

Which instrument are welcome? Is there a limitation of musicians?

All instruments are welcome, from Bass to Sitar everything is possible! There is no limitation of musicians.

Whats the time you play in Berlin? What does it cost?

The session goes from 19:30-23:00. If you come before 21:00 the entry is FREE.
